Another astonishing and frightening post. I will be forwarding this to friends and to my MP here in the UK, urging him to ask the UK government if they are aware of the behaviour of the israeli secret police and pushing them to demand explanations from the Israeli embassy on the behaviour of their security forces. Of course I have no illusions here – it’s just a need to do some little thing as a tiny act of solidarity. Alan

A: Hadn’t thought of it that way. Really meant that Britain built its empire on land and resources stolen from the inhabitants. Including the land of Palestine which it so generously assigned to the Zionists in 1917 for their future state of Israel. I’d say Britain’s UN abstention — like Canada’s no vote — was shameful, but not surprising.

Yes Indeed; a day to remember – even if the US will continue to prop up Israel and maintain the Occupation. Good to see that there was some strong support from Europe – albeit without Britain. (As an aside – did you mean to say that Britain is land taken from its original occupants? Did you mean the Celts? or that land ownership iin the UK is a relict of the historical theft of the land by the pwerful few frmo the many?
I understand that one can now acquire a Christmas Crib ( if you are interested in such things) with the Wall running through it – wise men on one side – baby jesus on the other. I will let people know where to get it if I can track down a source.

I am from vancouver,canada and i support Palestine in its bid to get observer status at the UN. Shame on the countries that vote against it. I believe that Palestine will win this vote at the UN.

An Anti-conscription movement? Yes, New Profile. Really it's an anti-militarism movement, and among other things it supports Israelis who refuse military service. What a brave young man and how moving his letter. Is there an anti-conscription movement in Israel? do Druze people join it? and if so is it something that Omar can connect to? I wonder too if there is a musical grouping – like the joint jewish arab orchestra – which might take up his cause and, by implication, the cause of others like Omar. Michael, thank you for keeping us posted.
